| Sardis City is located in
northeast Alabama in the northwest corner of Etowah County (population
103,459). The city limits encompass approximately 35 square miles
including a 10-acre area in Marshall County (population 82,231).
At our northeast city limits Sardis City borders DeKalb County (population
64,452). Geographically, Sardis City is located at the center of
three counties with a combined population of 250,142. |

| Sardis City is located in
a rural area that includes several different communities. Of the
communities that depend on Sardis City for recreation and other services
Mountainboro is the only one that is incorporated. The unincorporated
areas include: Whitesboro, Rockledge, Carlisle and Aroney. The combined
population of this area exceeds 8,000 persons. |

| Another reflection of the
populace and the recent growth of this area is the number of customers
that the Sardis City Water Board serves. In 1990, the Water Board
served 1,050 customers. Over the past 10 years that figure has risen
to over 1,400 customers. |
